BTEX and Styrene are Volatile Organic Compounds derived from petroleum and from the emissions of motor vehicles. These compounds are known for the contamination of soils and groundwater and for their harmful effects on human health.

Because of their volatility, Static Headspace is an advisable technique for the analysis of BTEX and Styrene in water. Moreover, unlike other sample handling methodologies, Static Headspace is an easy-to-use, solvent-free, and robust technique.

The aim of the following work is to show that by using the state-of-the-art DANI Master SHS, it is possible to achieve highly accurate results at ppb levels even for small sample volumes at low concentrations. This approach

eliminates the risks of carry-over and cross-contamination and allows to save time increasing laboratory productivity.
